In Fukuoka...

After spending last week in Osaka, I went back to Tokyo and then set off again on monday night for the exhibition in Fukuoka.  We had an early start (6:50am!!) to start preparing before the clients started arriving at midday. The number of clients was less than at Tokyo and Osaka but nonetheless some big and important faces arrived during the day.

After the exhibition, the sales team of Tomonori and Kenji from Fukuoka;  the West Japan sales team from Osaka and Bridgestone Sports Tokyo went out for a local meal, motsunabe (beef hotpot, Fukuoka style).

Dscf1403After the Fed Cup we moved eastwards to Umeda, in central Osaka for the exhibition for the central and  western regions of Japan. The salesforce is slightly smaller in numbers than in east Japan. Pictured here along with yours truely are the members of the West Japan tennis sales team of (from left to right) Kenji, Hideo, Hidenori, Takashi and Akihiro.

Fed Cup: Japan v. Croatia @ Hyogo, Japan

This week, I am in the western region of Japan  to support TF in the area. First stop was the "Beans Dome" in Hyogo up in the mountains for the Fed Cup tie between Japan and Croatia because the Japanese distributors Bridgestone Sports had a stand. The dome is in the middle of nowhere, situated around 40 minutes from Kobe city. The weather was snowing with no central heating inside!

By coincidence, one of our TF contract players, Jelena Kostanic-Tosic was playing number one for Croatia. Naturally, she was sporting the TF logo on her racket.

_kio8352_2Being the extremely nice and friendly person, she agreed for a short interview and a visit to our TF stand! (Shown here proudly showing her string, Promix 1.30mm). She produced a good result, beating the higher ranked Aiko Nakamura in a three set match clearly as the underdog (Photo by Mr "Matchan" Matsumoto).
