European Squash championships: Lincou ends Gaultier's reign

Today.312 Thierry Lincou is the new European champion at 33 years old. Thierry defeated G. Gaultier in the final 12/10 9/3 rtd to claim the title.
"This was a great week for me, I was very keen to play here, maybe Greg wasn't as determined as I was today, and I was lucky in the final. But at 33, I didn't retire. I'm still here, and happy for that, I'm happy. And I'm happy to keep going  a bit longer, and I hope we are all going to have a great party tonight".

Tecnifibre congratulates Thierry for this title and wished him the best for this summer.

Canary Wharf: 18 year old M. El Shorbagy upset world n°5 !

Elshorbagy_oct08 The opening night of the ISS Canary Wharf Classic produced two stunning upsets as teenager Mohamed El Shorbagy beat the in-form Nick Matthew in the $52,500 5-star PSA Tour event at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, London.

 

Egyptian El Shorbagy, an 18-year-old Millfield School student (pictured) who is coached by squash legend Jonah Barrington, clinched the best result of his fledgling career as he beat England's former British Open champion Matthew 11-7, 5-11, 8-11, 12-10, 11-9 in a brutal 90-minute marathon that thrilled a full-house opening day crowd at the London Docklands venue.

Alister Walker Wins Montreal Title

England's top seed Alister Walker denied local fans a home victory in the Midtown Sanctuaire Open when he beat second-seeded Canadian Shahier Razik in the final of the inaugural $21,000 PSA Tour squash event at Midtown Le Sporting Club Sanctuaire in Montreal, Canada.

 

Walker, the Botswana-born world No18, had to battle for 76 minutes before overcoming Razik 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-5.

The triumph marks Walker's third career PSA Tour title.

Alister plays with Tecnifibre Suprem 130 ng and 305 green string.

Squash France championships: Thierry Lincou claimed his 11th title

08BO3982 Thierry Lincou, 7 in the world, claimed his 11th title at the France championships by beating big rival G. Gaultier in the final 11/5 4/11 11/5  3/11 11/5.

"I played a big match, one of the most beautiful victories in the championships. I have seen how Greg wanted to play today even if it was difficult because of the physical and mental fights. I'm glad to see that I can continue to play that kind of match even if I'm 33! This win is very important for my season on the PSA Tour..."

Asian Jr 2009: TF players Low and Dipi, as usual...

09_BJO_FIN_G19_082 Malaysia's Low Wee Wern completed her junior career by retaining the Asian Junior Championship title in a thrilling final against home hope Dipika Pallikal. It was a repeat of last year's final, and of the British Junior Open final just two weeks ago, and it was the closest yet as a see-saw match went all the way to extra points in the decider.

Yuta Fukui wins National Squash Championships in Japan

6a00d8341cb64c53ef0105361b5d88970b-250wi The Japanese national squash championships were held last weekend in Yokohama. The men's championships were won by Japanese number one, Yuta Fukui.

At 20 years of age, Yuta signed a contract with Tecnifibre earlier this year. He plays with the Suprem NG130 racket. After his victory, he stated "I haven't lost a match since changing to Tecnifibre so I am so happy."Tecnifibre and its Japanese squash distributor First Wave would like to congratulate him for this result.

17 ans depuis le 12 janvier, Mohamed continue les exploits et se retrouve en quart de finale pour un match entre champions du monde. L'un des deux est sûr de le rester et ce n'est pas Shabana. Il vient pourtant d'éliminer Wael mais il lui a fallu cinq sets.
