Monte Carlo/Day 1: Goods results for Tecnifibre

659917237Three Tecnifibre players were on the court yesterday to face frenchmen opponents.

On Centre Court, Janko Tipsarevic upset seed n°9 PH Mathieu after a three sets fight, 6/4 2/6 6/3. New good performance for our serb player who is facing N Lapentti in the second round.

In the morning, qualifier Kristof Vliegen played a good match defeating F Santoro in two straight sets 7/6 6/1. Another french will be in front of him in the second round, R Gasquet for the revenge of last French Open second round.

Finally, Gael Monfils advances to the second round after a 7/5 6/4 win over Tecnifibre player Fernando Verdasco.

Monte Carlo: TF official stringer. 3 players in the draw

McccAs usual, Tecnifibre is the Official stringer at Monte Carlo, the first clay court Masters Series tournament of the year. Today, three Tecnifibre players will be on the court:

Janko Tipsarevic - Paul Henri Mathieu

Fernando Verdasco - Gael Monfils

Kristof Vliegen -  Fabrice Santoro

Davis Cup 2008 first round: Czech Republic - Belgium

Img_1734_3 After his win in a polish challenger last week, Tecnifibre player Kristof Vliegen is arrived in Czech Republic to play Davis Cup first round with Belgium. Here a picture sent by Dieter Calle, the belgian team stringer, working for TF in his country. Kristof is playing with Olivier Rochus, Ruben Bemelmans and Steve Darcis to reach the QFs.

Australian Open: Tecnifibre diary in Melbourne...

First day at the Australian Open in Melbourne and first victory for Kristof Vliegen with a 6/0 6/1 7/6 win over frenchman Olivier Patience. He's facing Igor Andreev in the second round.

Today, F. Verdasco, J. Tipsarevic and G. Dulko begin their tournament.

Les tournois du Team cette semaine. Fini le gazon, retour sur terre!

Tm_verdasco_rg2007_ac38Plusieurs inscrits sur les tournois cette semaine et notamment sur les deux tournois sur terre battue du moment, Bastad en Suede et Gstaad en Suisse.

Fernando Verdasco s'est donc rendu au nord de l'Europe ou il affrontera au premier tour un qualifié pour jouer ensuite le vainqueur du match Bolelli-Soderling.

En Suisse, où l'on fêtera certainement le 5ème titre de Federer à Wimbledon, Kristof Vliegen affronte Gaston Gaudio au premier tour pour jouer Richard Gasquet probablement au 2ème.

Fernando et Kristof rejoignent Janko... Gisela s'arrête.

Wimbledontenniscentrecourt Après la qualif de Janko Tipsarevic pour le deuxième tour de Wimbledon, nos deux autres joueurs TECNIFIBRE ont passé les obstacles Reynolds et Monaco pour avoir le droit d'affronter demain Andreas Seppi et Gael Monfils sur le gazon britannique. Deux victoires en trois sets qui rassurent avant deux matchs qui s'annoncent déja difficiles demain. A suivre aujourd'hui la rencontre Tipsarevic-Serra.

Chez les femmes, notre joueuse argentine Gisela Dulko n'a pas pû se sortir du jeu offensif de la greque Eleni Daniilidou et s'incline comme à Roland Garros sur un difficile 8/6 au troisième set.

ATP Monte Carlo: Vliegen/Nadal today

What a match! "Fly" is facing the best player in the world on clay today in Monte Carlo. After Mathieu and Safin, TECNIFIBRE hopes Kristof is able to defeat "spaniard matador" who will try to obtain his 64th consecutive win on clay. Come on Fly, come on TECNIFIBRE...

Davis Cup: Belgium-Germany in Oostende

I will be at the end of the week in Oostende in Belgium for the Davis Cup Quarterfinal Belgium-Germany. Tecnifibre players Kristof Vliegen and Christophe Rochus have been selected to defend Belgium colors. I'll try to give some news during the week end and take photos of the event.
