Miami ATP: Verdasco upset countryman Lopez and reaches 4th round

Fernando Verdasco reached the 4th round in Miami last night by defeating his friend F. Lopez from Spain in three sets 3/6 6/3 6/4.

Fernando is facing Radek Stepanek from Czech Republic for a place in the QFs.

Sarajevo Challenger: Ivan Dodig claims title

Croatian Ivan Dodig claimed title at Sarajevo Challlenger tournament. Tecnifibre player upset seed n°5 D. Meffert in two straight sets 6/4 6/3.

Ivan should enter for the first time in the top 200 next monday.

Miami ATP: Janko et Fernando are still alive ;)

Janko Tipsarevic upset Jurgen Melzer in two straight sets in Miami 2nd round yesterday while Fernando Verdasco was too strong for B. Becker 6/3 6/4.

They both are playing today for a place into the 4th round.

Fernando plays wih T-Fight 320 V02 max and Janko uses T-Fight 32 V02 Max by Tecnifibre.

Janko Tipsarevic joins Marcos Baghdatis in Miami 2nd round after a 6/4 3/6 6/3 win over argentinian J. Acasuso yesterday.

Miami ATP: Marcos advances to the second round

Cypriot wild card Marcos Baghdatis made an emphatic start to his Miami campaign with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Latvian Ernests Gulbis on Wednesday at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament in Florida.

The 23-year-old Baghdatis fired seven aces and converted four of six break point opportunities to secure his fourth victory over Gulbis in 80 minutes. He goes on to face French No. 31 seed PH. Mathieu in the second round.

Canary Wharf: 18 year old M. El Shorbagy upset world n°5 !

The opening night of the ISS Canary Wharf Classic produced two stunning upsets as teenager Mohamed El Shorbagy beat the in-form Nick Matthew in the $52,500 5-star PSA Tour event at East Wintergarden in Canary Wharf, London.

 

Egyptian El Shorbagy, an 18-year-old Millfield School student (pictured) who is coached by squash legend Jonah Barrington, clinched the best result of his fledgling career as he beat England's former British Open champion Matthew 11-7, 5-11, 8-11, 12-10, 11-9 in a brutal 90-minute marathon that thrilled a full-house opening day crowd at the London Docklands venue.

Tecnifibre is the official partner of St Bieuc challenger in France. This tournament is a big event for players between 150 and 400 in the world. Lots of strong players have played there like JW. Tsonga, G. Simon, M. Safin or J. Chardy.

Last year, C. Rochus claimed the title by defeating spaniard M. Granollers 6/2 4/6 6/1.

Tournament manager JP. Briend realizes an amazing job every year with his team to improve the quality of the tournament. Tecnifibre wishes them all the best for 2009.

Tennis Expo in Paris. Exhibition with Tecnifbre and our partner ISP Academy

ISP Academy and Tecnifibre organized two exhibitions during the last tennis expo in Paris. 4 of the best young Tecnifibre players have played on a centre court in front of many people. During 1 hour, Charles Auffray and Benjamin Cassaigne from ISP academy have trained the teenagers.

A good way for both of us to show our partnership. Thank's again to ISP Academy to be confident with Tecnifibre and we hope to continue on this way for a long time!

Indian Wells ATP: Verdasco-Federer to clash in QFs

World N°10 and Tecnifibre player Fernando Verdasco, posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 win over German Philipp Kohlschreiber to reach his first quarterfinal at a hard-court ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament.

Federer has a 2-0 record against Verdasco with both wins coming on clay at Hamburg.

1st Tennis Expo in Paris. Tecnifibre was there!

 

For the 1st time, the Tennis Expo was organized in Paris. Many brands were there to present their products to tennis customers but also to the shops.

Big success for Tecnifibre with a lot of people visiting the booth. Lots of players tried rackets and strings and wanted to play with Baghdatis and Verdasco's rackets.
