Interview with Janko Tipsarevic after his victory against Marat Safin in Roland Garros

Q. Can could you sum up how was  the game for you ? Was it a big surprise or did you feel quite soon that Marat was not in a good day ?

JANKO TIPSAREVIC : I was not thinking before I started the match that Marat is like a big, huge favorite of the match, first of all, because I played him one time before and was really, really close to beat him in most quarterfinal end of last year.

And second of all, I know that this year, he hasn't been playing really great on clay courts. I think he won three or four matches or so. So I was thinking that this might be my chance to progress to the third round.

I'm proud to write to you in live of the French Open in Roland Garros. I'm proud like all the Tecnifibre team who congratulates Janko Tipsarevic and Kristof Vliegen, who reached the third round of the tournament after their amazing wins over Marat Safin and Richard Gasquet, both in three sets!

Waiting for Fernando Verdasco tomorrow for a third victory in the second round, all fans who are here in Roland Garros have been impressed by the red wave... See you for other news...

Roland et... les matchs par équipes...

Le tennis mondial suit de très près les aventures des champions sur les courts de la porte d'Auteuil mais Tecnifibre n'oublie pas pour autant tous les autres qui se battent pour leur club tous les dimanche depuis un mois. A l'honneur cette semaine, le club Tecnifibre des Yvelines de St Germain en Laye/Les Loges dans le 78 qui est allé s'imposer 5/3 à Reims en nationale 4. Une victoire acquise grâce aux deux victoires en double et qui place le club en situation favorable pour la montée en N3 avant la dernière rencontre de dimanche. Une victoire acquise au courage et qui fait du bien à l'équipe du capitaine Michel Andrieux, comme le montre le soulagement de Baptiste Grodenic (2/6 en photo), auteur d'un double décisif remarquable. Il n'y a pas qu'à Roland que les émotions sont fortes...

Tecnifibre exhibition, saturday 26th of June

Tecnifibre has decided to organize an exhibition one day before the beggining of the the French Open. Sucy en Brie tennis club (just near Paris) hosted the event. Janko Tipsarevic, Fernando Verdasco and Gisela Dulko accepted the invitation in order to play with children. More than 200 people were there. As Supertramp said, "It's raining again" and tennis fans can not see a lot of matchs since the beggining of the tournament. So, let me show you who are this year our stringers on the Tecnifibre stringing service:

Starting to the top left: Petr Krejci (Czech republic), Arnold Morzadec (France), Bruno Fabre (France), Eric Fauvel (France), Toru Yusuki (Japan), Stéphane Chrzanowski (France), Mark Maslowski (Germany), Philippe Villaume (France), Ron Kohn (Australia), Laurent Lucas (France).

Today, Monday the 28th, they have already strung more than 1160 rackets.

French Open: End of the qualifications and stringing service statistics.

Hello everybody,

Tecnifibre is the official stringer in Roland Garros this year again, and you'll can discover each day the news of the tournament. All top players are now arrived in Paris and are training on the french clay. Qualifications are now finished and Tecnifibre is proud to have Jerome Haehnel in the first round of Roland Garros after his win over spanish player G. Fraile in two sets, 6/4 6/2. Pablo Andujar has been defeated by Ivan Navarro Pastor after an amazing fight. Pablo couldn't do anything at the end of the match and lost it with a dramatic 8/6 in the final set. Julio Silva, I introduced you few days ago on the blogs crashed out. Chilian P. Capdeville reached the first round of main draw with a 4/6 6/4 6/3 win over our "auriverde" player. We wait for the result of Christophe Rochus who leads 6/5 in the third set against T. Zib before the rain decided to stop the match.

Our stringers are working a lot in order to satisfy all the players. Today, Friday 25th of May, Tecnifibre has already strung more than 760 rackets. Some facts for you...

We were talking about our brazilian player, Julio Silva few days ago... I met him yesterday in Roland Garros where Julio is playing the qualifications...
